Public access to information
From January 1st 2009, UNINETT and other government owned companies come under the offentleglova (act relating to public access to information).
UNINETT has always been an open organisation, and you can find a great deal of information on our website. You can try to find what you're looking for there, for instance under publications.
As a rule, all Norwegian citizens have a right to see all documents relating to any specific case. However, there are some exceptions:
Classified information.
Internal work documents.
Documents relating to public procurements (until the procurement process is concluded).
In addition there is an exception for documents relating to the registration of domain names at our subsidiary UNINETT Norid AS. Please contact Norid for more information.
Petition for information:
To gain access to information you may send a petition to innsyn@uninett.no. The petition should contain:
The title, or an accurate description, of the document(s) you wish to see.
Which format you wish to receive (printout or digital).
Name, address, e-mail and telephone number of the petitioner.
You'll get an automatic response when your petition is receieved. Normally, the petition is processed within 2-3 days, and you'll receive a written answer. Some petitions may take longer to process. If this is the case, you'll be notified. If the petition is denied, you'll receive a written explanation and information about your right to appeal the decision.
