Description of the service:

UNINETT real-time is based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and comprises four main stages:

Throughout the first stage, UNINETT real-time maintains a particular focus on telephony, as this is the most important and most widely used service. The solution runs on open standards and is interoperable with products and solutions from various suppliers. Specifically, UNINETT real-time has solutions in place to connect to every telephone exchange used in the sector, including Aastra, Alcatel, Avaya, Cisco, Asterisk, Kamailio and Microsoft Lync.

For state universities and university colleges, this service is covered in its entirety by UNINETT’s annual service fee.  For other customers, there is a start-up fee, as well as an annual fee for operation and development.
