Uninett’s Video Bridge service is intended to simplify the use of video in communication and meetings. It translates between divergent formats and makes it possible for different types of end equipment to communicate. This provides a seamless translation between SIP and Skype for your business clients. The service also provides a virtual meeting place for multiparty conferences.

    What is Video Bridge


    Video Bridge translates between the various videosystems Skype for Business, SIP, H.323 and WebRTC, and allows for participation by phone, so that these may all communicate together.

    This is accomplished through close integration with Uninett Real Time which, among other things, provides a seamless translation between Skype for Business/Lync and SIP, as well as a URI format for addressing that is part of the domain-based structure introduced through Uninett Real Time.

    This service offers three optional main features:

    • Virtual meeting room, unlimited number
    • Bridge between video end points, so that, for example, Skype for Business users can be reached from other video end points.
    • End users as clients directly on Video Bridge

    The annual service fee for Video Bridge is based on a subscription to these channels. Your company will receive weekly user reports.

    As a matter of principle, there is no hard and fast limit for the use of channels, but your company may itself choose to set an upper limit for how many channels may be used.

    Subscriptions for channels are offered in packages of five simultaneous video channels, with a minimum order of five channels.

    The customer can choose to lock the maximum number of permitted channels used in his subscription.

    The customer will receive weekly user reports. Billing is annual, in arrears, in accordance with the use of simultaneous channels.

    Start-up fee: H

    There will be a start-up fee for each and every main feature that is chosen (see description) on the basis of time spent. Contact us for an estimate.

    Annual service fee:

    The price for five simultaneous channels is NOK 5,000 per month.
